SAWJAN has organised awareness & training program on ‘BetiBachaoBetiPadhao’ Programme from 8th August to 21st August 2018 in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra with specially focusing four backward blocks namely Jalgaon City, Dharangaon, Parola and Chalisgaon with the CSR fund support of ONGC & Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.Approximately 11000 students of 14 education institutes with Approx 156 Volunteers and many intellectuals and leaders of the society contributes significantly to generate awareness among the peoples of Jalgaon for Save the Girl Child and Educate the Girl Child (BetiBachaoBetiPadhao).
One of the key objective of the awareness & training program is holistic development of Women, Children and deprive segment in the country. Based on the data from Census of India 2011, it was observed that Child Sex Ratio (CSR), i.e. number of girls for every 1000 boys in the age group of 0 to 6 years has declined to 918 from 976 in 1961. The main reason for this decline is low Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) are ;
To address the issue of declining CSR, GoI has launched BetiBachaoBetiPadhao (BBBP) scheme. The scheme was launched by Honorable Prime Minister on 22nd January 2015 at Haryana. By undertaking mass campaign across the nation, focused intervention and multi-sectorial action in the scheme, it has been started where the CSR has been critical.
With the objective to contribute in this noble mission, SAWJAN has organized the ‘BetiBachaoBetiPadhao’ Programme from 8th August to 21st August 2018 in Jalgaon, Maharashtra with specially focusing 4 CSR backward blocks Jalgaon City, Dharangaon, Parola and Chalisgaon.
This Programme has five key component as mentioned below:
Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri A.T. Nana Patil, Jalgaon Lokshabha has also attended the nukkadnatak and Awareness camp and administrated the oath for Save the Girl Child and Educated the Girl Child. This event also well covered by the leading print media.
NukkadNatak (Street theatre) has been conducted Approx 40 places of the selected blocks by volunteers of SAWJAN. Citizen of the district has given warm welcome to the volunteer’s team and attended the NukkadNatak. The message of this mass campaigning event was well received by the attendees.
